When downloading MAME roms, it shows me (set 1) or (set 2). which one should I download?
Or do I need both to run the game?

the "sets" just mean alternative versions of the ROM boards that have been acquired and dumped. Some sets have slight differences, others are the exact game but on a slightly different board. Either way, you need the PARENT rom to play the game. The parent ROM is not always the 1st set. Sometimes it is the most current set. Look on MAWS to see which is the parent ROM.

I think it means its all the available roms split into two parts, its probably alphabetical so set one will contain all ROMs begining with A through M and set two, N through to Z.
