What do you think of guys dating older guys?
A colleague just said that he would see me dating an older white European guy and I kinda freaked out (ok a little exaggeration there) but I have no clue why would someone suggest that.
I'm 33yo white European, dating a 24yo black American. I look 21 (no joke - I'm being asked for ID in bars in the UK)
I wanted to find out what people think of guys dating older guys and try to understand that way why I (kinda) freaked out.
A bit of a light-hearted question really.
Ok, let me rephrase: What would you think of the character of a guy (of legal age) dating an older guy?

I agree with Freddie.
The actual age (the number) doesn't mean anything. I know 40 year olds that act like 20 year old and vice versa--age has nothing to do with maturity.
The most important thing to think about is whether the two of you are at the same place in life. If he's younger and all about partying and you're working to pay a mortgage, you're at different places and it might not work.
Find someone who fits you best and forget about the age. As long as they're of legal age and the both of you are happy, that's all that matters.

As an 'older guy' I do occasionally enjoy the company of a younger dude. My problem with younger guys is this: what do we have in common? Except that maybe we're both into the sex, we would have no common history. That's why I prefer guys closer to my age. I guess when one gets older, one also enjoys some conversation, too. But there is something to be said for dating an older guy: stability. They really do tend to be more loving, caring, and stable.

It's not a huge age difference. I would worry more about the difference in life experiences, rather than how you looked. At your age you've lived through so much more than your bf, and you may be in a difference place in life.
In my case, I'm 29 and my bf's 41. Almost the same as in your case, but believe me, 29 is closer to 41 than 24 is to 33. Mentally, at least. Anyway, enjoy the relationship. Don't worry about what anyone says. Only you know what's right for you.

I find no problem with age difference. If they are both consenting adults (18+) then they can do whatever they choose. I am 31 going on 32yo very soon and if they are any 18 and older boys interested in dating me, who am I to break their hearts. :)

I'm the older guy in this equation and my husband is 27, so I give thanks daily that he's totally in favor of it.
And BTW, just in case ya'll think that I'm some old lechy perv who lurched at him from out of the bushes, he was the one who approached me and for the first several weeks I held him at bay. Thank god he was persistent!

Do you know any? Can you hook me up because I got some vacation time coming and wouldn't mind being a kept man for a week or two.

As long as it's legal, "age is a case of 'mind over matter, if you don't mind-it don't matter"
