Will Yankee fans be OK if the team does not make the playoffs?
Ive been a Yankee fan for along time. I was a fan back in the 80's when they sucked. I would love for them to win,but im ok with them if they have a bad season how do the rest of the Yankee fans feel?

I will be upset, but not surprised. They are rebuilding the pitching staff and i dont expect much out of the young pithcers they have right now.Even if they do make the playoffs, they dont have the arms to carry them deep. The offense has been a disappointment this year too. That lineup should be scoring 6 runs a game!I hope they dont trade away all the young pitchers, cause in another year or two,the Yanks will have a good young pitching staff, and they will be right back where they belong. On top!

Here is some advice from Red Sox Fans if the season doesn't go well. Read this, you might get a chuckle out of it :)
From SNL:
Tina Fey: Earlier this evening, the heavily-favored New York Yankees lost to the Anaheim Angels, 9 to 5, eliminating them from the Playoffs. This is the first time the Yankees haven't reached the World Series since 1997. Here to help Yankee fans cope with the disappointment, are Boston Red Sox fans
Seth Meyers and Matt Damon.
Seth Meyers: Thank you, Tina! Okay, Yankees fans, we're here to help - seriously. Right now, you may be feeling something you're not really used to. It's called "losing". Now you know what Matt, myself, and thousands like us go through every year. We're experts at heartbreaking failure, and we're
gonna walk you through it.
Matt Damon: Okay. The most important thing is: remember to breathe. I know this sounds simple, but.. when the ball went through Buckner's legs in '86, I was hospitalized for, like, a week.
Seth Meyers: One thing not to do is take all of your team's parapharnalia, put it in a big pile, and light it on fire. Trust me, that stuff is expensive to replace, and you will get arrested.
Matt Damon: You spent the last eight Octobers focused on baseball. Why not try football? You still have The Jets. [ audience boos ] Sorry.. I'm sorry..
Jimmy Fallon: That's a low blow.
Matt Damon: Yeah. My apologies. We should be sensitive.
Seth Meyers: And here's something you might not know: Fall is awesome. The leaves change color, it's breathtaking! Ever wonder why New England has such beautiful foliage? It's God's way of apologizing.
Matt Damon: And look at this way - at least your favorite player wasn't cryogenically frozen by his scumbag son.
Seth Meyers: The most important thing to remember is: find someone else to blame. The first thing we do when the Red Sox lose is blame the Yankees. Obviously, that doesn't work for you. Blame the umpires, or make up some crazy story about a curse.
Matt Damon: That works, too!
Seth Meyers: Uh.. just remember one thing.
Matt Damon: It's not your fault.
Seth Meyers: But if Soriano didn't drop that pop-up!
Matt Damon: It's not your fault.
Seth Meyers: If we had kept Tino!
Matt Damon: It's not your fault.
Seth Meyers: If the bullpen had performed better!
Matt Damon: It's not your fault.
Seth Meyers: If I only I had cheered harder!
Matt Damon: It's not your fault.
Tina Fey: Matt Damon and Seth Meyers, everyone

Lilaponte, you say Yankee fans celebrate after every win, well how about many fans of the Red Sox, Cubs or Cardinal fans, who also do it also after their team wins & & I seriously doubt any Yankee fan will do anything drastic if Yankees miss play-offs for the first time in what, 14 years & what fans will be happy when their team misses play-offs?

It would be weird not seeing the Yankees in the playoffs. The last time they didn't make it I was 8 years old. I would be upset but I would get over it and look towards next year.

Long time Yankees fan here. We'll be ok. Most of us are Knicks fans too so we know how to handle disappointment. May 14th is not the time to be counting out the boys in the Bronx just yet.

If you Yankee fans will be fine if you don't get in the playoffs. There is always the next season. Keep your chins up.

i'm no longer a Yankee fan yet i does not make the commerce. in simple terms face data that when 12 right now years interior the positioned up-season, the Yanks will could flow with the aid of some rebuilding. i think of they'd desire to attend and notice if those adult men (Kennedy, Hughes & Chamberlain) become studs. Johnny Z-- i think of you advise Kazmir of the Rays.

If the Yankees don't make the playoffs the NYPD better have airbags set up at the bottom of the Brooklyn Bridge to catch all of the jumpers!!!!

I don't think any would is okay when their team doesn't make the playoffs, but I think most Yankee fans will be worse. They've got the highest payroll in baseball so you'd figure they should win almost every game.

Once (if&when) they're officially eliminated from the playoffs, you know everyone will start bragging and gloating. that would bother me more than anything.
Not making the playoffs would disappoint alot of us, it be like the end of Atlanta Brave's 11 streak NL EAST wins.
