When I have the money, I buy name brand, but when I'm penny poor, I have no choice but to buy the generic.

Generics are made by the same companies as the name brands. The name brands are just that, NAME BRANDS, and they're paying the big bucks to marketers to promote their name. They're more expensive to consumers because WE are paying for promotion of the name and more colours on the packaging. This is very evident when you visit one of factory outlets where they sell name brand, store brand, and no-name products all produced at the same plant.

It depends on what the product is....there are some things that I buy the brand name of because the generic just does not measure up. Most of the time I get generic though.

With many name brand products, a generic brand just doesn't cut it, but with others, a generic product is just fine. Most of the time, though, I buy a name brand.

I usually buy brand name products. The generic never seem to work very well, and you have to use twice as much. Not really saving money.

I depends on the product. Some items I find are just as good in generic and others I find name brand are better.

Usually, but there are a few things I won't buy generic. That's because I've tried them and did not like them. I like Hershey's chocolate syrup, I bought the store brand because it was cheaper and was sorry I did : )

It depends on what I'm buying. Ketchup, gotta be Heinz Cream Cheese, must be Philly. Sugar, flour, cereal, paper products, noodles and what have you, I get whatever is cheapest.
