why alazka is 6 months day and 6 months nigth?

    depending on the time of the year alaska has different length of days and nights than the continental us, for example. its because its far up north. the same applies for anything that is far south. simply put its because the earth is tilted and when it spins like that the sun doesnt evenly distribute on every part of the earth. so in the winter, alaska has extremely long nights, and during summer, extremely long day! I was in alaska in august couple years ago and the sun started to come up around 3am.

    Alaska is that way because of it's position on the globe. It is so far North that it cannot recieve sunlight because of the angle of the earth's axis. People there have accustomed themselves to it, however.
