Is pulling through a parking lot as a "shortcut" or cutting the courner of an intersection Illegal in Georgia?
I have a bet with my boss that it is but I need the actual Georgia legal code link to prove it. Does anyone know how to prove it is illegal without calling an attorney?
TITLE 40. MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC
CHAPTER 6. UNIFORM RULES OF THE ROAD
ARTICLE 2. TRAFFIC SIGNS, SIGNALS, AND MARKINGS
O.C.G.A. § 40-6-20 (2007)
§ 40-6-20. Obedience to traffic-control devices required; presumptions; enforcement by traffic-control signal monitoring devices
I read this code section but I do not see where it addresses the issue of avoiding the light all together. Am I just missing it?

Yep. It's considered evading traffic control devices, and covered under Georga Title 40 Chapter 6 Article 2.

ALMOST got a ticket for the same thing in Texas, but managed to get out of it when I showed the cop my gas gauge below "E" and the accident in the intersection that was keeping me from making it to the gas station.

Michael, this is illegal in all 50 states. Call the state police, or talk to a policeman in your town and get the code number.
