Boar bristle brush?

Can/should you use a boar bristle brush for heat styling/blow drying? I've used mine to that purpose and the bristles look a bit fried. It was a medium priced brush ($20). Just wondering if I did the right thing or not. Thanks.

the boar bristle is great depending on the texture of your hair sometimes they are really nice for getting curls straightened when you need that extra pull on the brush...they do tend to melt sometimes even the nice ones we ue in the salon from the heat..y dont you just try a ceramic round brush? i have never had a prob with the bristles melting and they do just as good a job with less work i think
