What's a good hospitality "Thank You" gift????

I have a close family friend that recently let my husband and I stay at her beach house in North Carolina for a getaway weekend (for free), and I need a small thank you gift to send her and her family. Nothing too expensive since we're such good friends and I know she's not expecting anything, but something other than just a note to tell her thank you. We already bought her a nice dinner during one night of our stay, but I feel that I need to send something to her and her family, since it's her parent's beach house. Any suggestions would help!!! Thanks in advance!

Do they have frequent guests stay there?

If so, maybe a nice journal book for everyone that stays there to leave comments and sign before they leave.

I discovered one of these in a timeshare I rented in Maui, and I couldnt put it down reading all of the comments, tips, recreational ideas, and personal experiences people had left over the years.

It actually helped me to plan alot of activities.

    Just a thought.

    Hospitality Gift Ideas

I love sending those tins of Mrs. Fields cookies. Everyone loves getting those (so do I). Flowers are lovely, but that's the usual 'send'.

You could certainly put together a gift box from Bath & Body filled with creams, lotions, body wash, candles, soap and a shower puff....all in the same scent (one you know she likes). But that could get pretty expensive and that would be more for her than the whole family.

I agree that you should acknowledge the parents as well, since it was their cottage. I'd send them a gift card to a local restaurant... that would surprise and please them. It sure saved you a ton of $$$ not having to rent the beach house. Thanking both would not be out of line.

A gift card to her favorite restaurant would be the perfect gift.

That way your friend and her family can eat out for a nice lunch/dinner when they don't feel like cooking.

I would send a $100 restaurant gift card as my thank you gift.

Small Bunch of flowers will be a modest gift. Spiced up with any useful item that she can cherish her good times with you. (A coffee mugged signed by you using permanent marker,a nice artifact to decorate her house,a greeting card to say thank you,etc....Pls note do not offer a gift in cash as this will hurt her ego).

    Good luck!

Don't 4get to tell her Thank You in person while handing the gift to her!!!

How about a gift card to a favorite restaurant of theirs and a thank you note to go with it.

well if u live away frm her (cos u said "send") send her some flowers that the agencies do up...n they write u a thank u note as well that u can put in... i've recieved some of those and i love it cos it's unexpected and the flowers r always really nice.

I like all of the answers so far, but I would add a gift card to the parents, who own the house, after all!

How about a thank you note and maybe a picture (in a frame) of you guys together?

Hope this helps. Tell us what you choose to do!

A large bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine.
