this happened to me...
1 have you downgraded your computer, what i mean, if your computer was built for vista, did you re-install it with xp

If you get any part of your hand near the touchpad it will make the mouse move. Also if you move the cursor, lift off your finger to extend the move and put it back down quickly it is read as a click.

If you have been using your laptop for a long time your touch pad might be damaged. Or if you have an acer notebook it might be its fault because some of acer laptops have a bad touch pad.
