What does this quote mean? "A person is a person through other persons."?

I have to write a critical lens using this quote, "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen and a short story from the following list:

"Sonny's Blues" by James Baldwin

"A+P" by John Updike

"A Good Man is Hard to Find" by Flannely O'Conner

Yeah and I was going to use the thesis that people live through other people and that would work for Mrs. Bennet and her daughters, but I can't match it to any of the short stories, and I can't think of another interpretation of the quote, so I'm kind of stuck here. Any help?

A person shows themselves through how they act with others.

Mrs.Bennet showed herself greedy and thoughtless by acting wierd in the party with others. On the other hand Lizzy was successful to imperss darcy by her noble and quick-answering nature.

You can't succeed, or fail in life without other people. Think of the last good, or bad thing that happened to you. I'll bet another person was somehow involved.
