How to remove wing bands from chicks?

We bought 2 banded pullets to put under a broody hen. She's a game chicken & thought she might not like the metal bands. Tried to remove one but chick acted very distressed. Any simple way to get them off? Chicks are maybe 7-10 days & bands are stuck.

The birds WILL act distressed but mainly because you are holding them down and stretching out their wing while they are more comfortable with the wing closer to their body.

Generally these bands are made of aluminum and if you can just bare with the "distress" then you should be able to remove these bands with a couple of pairs of needle nosed pliers but watch pinching their sking which I am sure is going to be a trick unless you have yourself and someone else helping you do this procedure.

You might need to watch these bands as they may have a little pointy arrow on the end of them that has pierced their wing.

Have some "betadine" liquid to dab onto the "wound" or some other kind of antibiotic liquid that will help deter infection.
