Problems booting ubuntu after install?

i just upgraded ubuntu from 7.10 to 8.04. after it did the install i selected it from the boot loader and the orange bar went like an inch and then stopped. it will not get past this part and i have dont this like 3 times now. also the live cd wont load and it does the same thing. how should i fix this? i have an hp pavillion 750n with a 2.45 ghz processor and 512 mb of ddr ram. also all other ubuntu disks will work on the computer and theres nothing wrong with my disk because i already shecked it.

You may need to leave it for a minute or two, usually if the bar stops it means Ubuntu is preparing to carry out a disc check. This is quite normal, especially after carrying out major maintenance. It will probably go in to text mode and check your hard drive and partition for integrity. You must allow Ubuntu to do this before you can continue using it. Once the process is completed Ubuntu will boot normally.

All classes would desire to continuously be put in on your time-honored inner disk stress provided that while it starts up living house windows will seem for each thing it particularly is meant to be there. subsequently the errors messages. I advise you try beginning living house windows with the exterior stress plugged in, uninstalling Ubuntu from the exterior stress, then reinstalling Ubuntu on your time-honored inner stress.
