Death Cab for Cutie song I think?
I found what I thought was Grapvine Fires by Death Cab for Cutie off their new album Narrow Stairs online but when I listened to it I realized taht it definetly wasn't Grapevine Fires. Ever since then I've been trying to figure out what it was but I can't figure it out. It sounds like them but I'm not sure. Here are the lyrics, or at least I'm pretty sure these are them haha, I'm doing this while listening to the song.
From the birdhouse straight to the kits explode?
Anyone would dare
To believe you have the slightest doubt
As you shot your dice?
And it felt like you were about to call
It felt like you were about to call
Just a short glimpse back to the firehouse
Where you spilt your beer
How I wish you'd like me to stick around
As I pass outside
It felt like you were
And it felt like you were
It felt like you were about to call
It felt like you were about to call
I like the song, I just want to know what it really is! Thankss!
It can't be grapevine fires. Maybe it's an early version of it. I listened to the real version on imeen and iTunes and it sounds nothingg like the one I have.
The real Grapevine Fires lyrics are here :
When the wind picked up
And the fire spread
And the grapevines seemed left for dead.
And the northern sky, like the end of day,
The end of days.
A wake up call to a rancid room
Sounded like an alarm of impending doom.
To warn us it's only a matter of time.
Before we all burn [4x]
I brought some wine and some papercups
Near your daughter's school when we picked her up
And drove to the cemetary on a hill
On a hill.
And we watched the plumes make the sky gray
And she laughed and dance through the field of grays
There i knew it would be alright
That everything would be alright,
Would be alright
Would be alright
Would be alright.
And the news reports on the radio
Said it was getting worse
Cause the ocean air found the flame.
But i couldn't think there was anywhere i would have rather been
To watch it all burn away.
To burn away.
The firemen worked in double shifts,
With prayers of rain on their lips

Even though it sounds similar to death cab for cutie, there's a good chance that this is not them. Any search for the lyrics comes up with this yahoo answers page and one lyrics site which incorrectly lists the lyrics as gravevine fires.
If this was a song by a popular band, such as death cab for cutie, you can bet you would get a whole lot more search results when googling some of the lyrics.
I'm still trying to find out who made this song, as I happen to like it quite a bit too. I'll let you know if I find anything.
