Just accidently ingested melted plastic. Errrr help?

Am making a cake and was melting chocolate in a plastic bowl in the microwave. Must have put it in for too long by accident and it started to smell burnt. I opened microwave and decided to taste chocolate with a spoon to taste if it was burnt. After tasting how nasty it was, I lifted up the bowl only to notice that it had a big hole burnt through it and te goo in the bowl was actualy choc mixed with melted plastic. Is this highly dangerous?

You wont have eaten that much as you only tasted the chocolate so you'll be just fine. Relax and use the double bowl method for melting chocolate, its better for the chocolate, it retains its flavour and texture that way. Microwaves cook as they melt which leaves chocolate grainy

The trick here is to go slowly and carefully so you don't damage your stove top... 1. Turn the stove on Medium-low 2. Carefully use a razor scraper and see if the plastic will come off...Make sure you are using a new blade 3. If the plastic is not coming off, gradually increase the heat until you are able to scrape it off without too much force...You might want to wear some protective gloves...Melted plastic on bare skin can make ya say bad words... ...Again, go SLOWLY

I spent $40 to buy ingredients for cheesy creamy cabbage and ingredients for a vegetable

lasagna. I am broke. I slaved on the stove all evening. I had no small tray to cook the remaining ingredients of my lasagna. I needed a foil tray or oven safe glass tray small enough for it but I opted to use a microwaveable plastic tray thinking if I was able to heat my bell peppers in the oven with this, it would work. The next day, I didn't notice, the plastic from the small tray above my bigger tray of lasagna dripped drops of plastic onto my tray. I had to call the supermarket to locate then name of the company because if the instructions said not to use again, then I shouldn't have used it. This is a bad time to throw a whole tray of lasagna away. I need to feed my boys while I am away. Bummer! Lucky's told me to throw it away. Rule of thumb, any trays you got from the frozen food section, never use. In fact, never use plastic if you can try.

em oh dear what possessed you to put a plastic bowl in the microwave lol. Anyway as for your question, if it was only a small amount I wouldn't be too concerned just drink plenty of water for the rest of the day. You'll be fine and next time use Ceramic Bowl lol.
