Is there a doctor or nurse in the house?
I woke up this morning with mild ear (left) pain. My ear hurts when lightly pulled and I have a small bump behind my ear as well. If I put my finger in my ear (not the canal) and press it also hurts mildly. I don't have a cold or flu or any other symptoms. I am going to my primary care doc for a look, but just want a heads up on what it could be.
Note: Please no jokes or sarcasm - Thanks!

Otitis externa is an infection of the outer ear wall. It is like a pimple on the wall of the outer ear. Since the ear is made of cartilage and not the same as our skin, any inflammation would case pain especially when you pull at the ear or press it. Usually it just goes away within 2-3 days.
You can take some analgesics like paracetamol or ibuprofen. If it persists more than 3 days or the pain gets worse even with the pain relievers, then check with your doctor. Hope that helps.
