PC monitor stays blank after boot up?
I'm running WinXp, and today when I tried to wake up the PC the monitor stayed blank. When I restarted, it booted up and gave the Win XP boot screen and then went blank. (ie, the monitor fell back to sleep) When I restarted again PC gave me safemode prompt and when I tried, it booted fine in the safe mode. But there was nothing I could do to fix the problem in the safe mode. When I restarted same thing happened. Please help!
I tried, hitting F5 during boot and enabled VGA mode. Then it booted fine. Once I tried to increase the resolution at the Settings tab, the screen again went dead. What is wrong here?
Finally, even the VGA mode doesn't work. So I figured the VGA card is screwed. I switched the VGA card and it worked like a charm! Thanks for your answers.

Like the answer above, check your resolution and other video settings, also check all cables at the back ;)

Reboot and go in to your bios settings. See if it allow you to select which vid port. If your battery is getting weak your settings may have spontaneously reset to default. If this works, you may need a new batter. If you try this, please post if it works.
