Cost of adding A/C.?

if you can find a wrecked one in a salvage yard they will sell you everything for about 500 bucks for that car, i have changed those over before,but its a big job, once all the changing is done though the system has to be pulled down and checked for leaks,then it can be charged with freon,the last one i done total cost was about 1200 to the customer and they liked it,they said the same thing you did, it was better than getting a new car,finding all the parts may be a slight problem,but usually its do-able it will take about a week to completely get this one and working properly if you do it your self,but sometimes its better to let a shop do all of it,they can do it in a few days and have it working,if you have a good car that's a lot better than going back in debt for another one,good luck with it.

It is honestly not worth it... when you install a/c in a vehicle that does not come stock with a/c 9 times out of 10 it never works properly... not only do you have to deal with a labyrinth of vacuum hoses there are alot of other parts you would need to completely hook up a/c... It can be done though and your guess of $1,000+ dollars is about right.

You can get it for about $700.00, you may be able to get a unit from a junk yard. Check around.
