Weight Watchers....?

Has anyone done the whole weight wachers thing and it really worked??

Or

Was it a waist on $$$??

If it worked, what worked for you?

How long has it been since you started and how much have you lost??

If you are no longer going to the meetings were you able to keep the weigth off?

I lost 55 lbs on Weight Watchers in 1987. I kept that weight off for 12 years. When I started to put some back on, I went on my own diet of 6 small meals a day which also worked great. The thing is - with Weight Watchers - you are accountable to yourself when you get on the scale. Someone is also watching and letting you know. The group thing was great for me - some people don't like it. You have to be dedicated and go to the meetings. I liked it very much. I also know that with that diet - I was NEVER hungry - there was always something I could eat! Good luck - you CAN do it!

I gained 16 pounds with weight watchers, (over 2 attempts), however, it seems to work well for everyone else! My mom is a big lady and she lost 25 pounds with in a matter of about 6 weeks.

It does work but you have to work it and it gets tiresome counting all the time. I lost 30 pounds but I stopped going and put it back on. It's nothing you can't do on your own but I think the structure and knowing you are getting weighed every week keeps you going. I can't be bothered going back since I know I could do it on my own, plus some of the people in the meetings were annoying and/or had eating disorders.

Source(s): experience; lost 30 lbs in about 3 months, kept it off for a year (on my own) slowly crept back on

Weight watchers meet in my church and from what I'v seen and heard from them. If you actually follow their plan and don't detour, it works.
