Angel the series question (4 years late) - What happens with the Shanshu prophecy at the end of the series?

The entire show was built on this Shanshu prophecy and the series ended without a resolution...

Angel signed something saying that he forfitted the spoils of the prophecy to join the circle and thorns (or whatever) secret society. Therefore, Spike was who the prophecy was about. But the series ended in a cliffhanger. What happened with the prophecy?

I heard the story was continued in a comic book series, but I'm not a comic reader. Is the comic series over? Can anyone tell me what happens with the Prophecy?

I have started the Comic series and so far:

    Gunn is a Vampire

Angel is human (But still pretending to be a Vamp)

    Illeyria turned back into Fred

Wes is a ghost working for Wolfram and Hart

    Lorne is a Leader

But the comic has not mentioned the Prophecy. I do suggest that you read it even if you don't like comics its pretty cool.

I really can't understand why so many people are saying yesterday's episode of DW was a letdown! You didn't really think the Doctor would have a blood daughter in it did you?! I think it was very, very clear that the title was misleading. One of Russell T's little jokes! Of course the doctor's daughter isn't what you think! The Doctor IS ALONE. That's one of the main concepts of the show! The Doctor travels because he is ALONE. He picks up companions because he is ALONE! Of course they couldn't just suddenly write a blood daughter in for him! He's the LAST OF HIS SPECIES! The last of the Time Lords! I think the way she was introduced [the idea of the regenerated tissue sample] was very well done but there were two things i'm picky about a] why wasn't Martha and Donna grabbed by the humans and stuffed in the machine to make clones of them i don't know and b] how Jenny came out the machine in two seconds flat as a young girl who knew how to assemble a weapon straight away! Still pickness aside i think the series so far has been very good. I agree with everything Spacephantom says about comparing the two series, although for me the best episode of series 3 was "Gridlock." I do think the return of Rose this series will turn everything we know on it's head. I think yesterday's episode carried the best message of ALL the series so far - "I Never Would."
