I had once read that the universes in space are being held by so many galaxies. Where our solar system lies, we're in the Milky Way Galaxy. The Milky Way Galaxy is shaped like a spiral. There's another galaxy called the Gallaptic Galaxy which isn't a spiral galaxy. I'll have to see the name of it somewhere on my Starry Night Program when I get home today so I can edit it. All of our universes and galaxies have been colliding with each other for over billions of years. Our universes is being held by matter and since I'm not sure if the name of the other galaxy is correct besides the Milky Way, I'll have to go see Brainpop for this.

Nothing... The Universe had a beginning and is expanding, but nothing is holding (Physically talking) the Universe.

If your question is about WHO, then I would would tell you> GOD.

1.-The Big Bang was a miracle. It happened without physical reason.

2.-After the Big Bang, the energy started to condense as a matter, but no as a antimatter. It was another miracle.

3.-There are many more exceptions to the rules to help the objective: Ice float in water, Earth have the right temperature, have plate tectonics, and the life itself is a special miracle, cause the DNA have the blueprint of the enzyme to open the DNA and to assemble the proteins of the mitochondria, where all the proteins are assemble. The double helix have to be opened to give the codes of the life.

Imagine I was a two-dimensional being and you tried to explain me that you have a mouth, a digestive tract and also an opening at the other side. I couldn't understand you!

As a two-dimensional being, if I had that, it would cut me in two: I would be two different beings, right?

Now, your problem is that you see the universe as you see an object on earth: in three-dimensions. But if you see it in four dimensions: space and time, there is no 'outside' our universe.

Think about the consequences of what we already know:

    1) The Hubble red-shift: It means that wherever we are in the universe, we can only observe it as if we are at its center.

    2) The Cosmic Microwave Background: The big bang is not a point in space, it is a sphere all around us.

The fact is that there is no absolute reference point in the universe; everything is observed from the observer's frame of space, time and inertia.

our parents are ours universe and we are their planets. So the force that makes us, to stick to our parents, holds true for entire universe.

i think that is still beyond our imagination, the final word is universe n all come under it, so u can say there must be some thing that is containing universe but that is still unknown.

I did hear it was 4 elephants on the back of a giant turtle, but I don't think I believe it.

It is speculated that there are multiple universes ans they occasionally collide with ours.
