where do cement is extracted?
i'm just wondering are cement companies "mine" their cement? where? in mountains? is "cement" a raw material or a product of chemicals?

Most cement is produced by mining limestone, clay minerals and gypsum. These are ground to powders, mixed and fired in a kiln to produce cement (usually called Portland cement).
The process releases Carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
