How to "hard reset" the blackberry 8820 which crashed?

Tried removing battery, without success and alt **** del without success. Whats the proper way to hard reset to factory default? Presently the BB shows an hourglass forever.

    hook it up to pc and do a restore make sure you use the desktop manager

    Not to insult your intelligence, but are you sure the BB Crashed? Pulling out the Battery resets the device, and can take a while to completely load up all the way.

    If you have, then I would return it to where you bought it. You can try plugging it in to the computer, but your PC may not recognize it because it is not fully installed yet. If you do get it successfully started up, do a backup, and just re-install the Operating System
