It depends on what the "it" is. . .if it's a matter of love or sex. . .love means a lot to me, while sex doesn't mean even close to as much. But if "it" is a matter of food or something recreational. . .that is totally different.
You should be more specific.

"it" is the term you use when adressing a creature/being/thing that isn't capable of human-like emotions. like an animal or and object- objects even more so as they don't have a specific gender.
it's also how i refer to my best friend =D
