How many of you feel you know everyone but when it comes to the nitty gritty how many actually have your back?

thats with everyone. no one has tons of true friends. theres only that select few that you know for sure have your back. because youve worked extra hard to make that relationship what it is today. and building up trust and honesty isnt always the easiest thing.

I have absolutely zero real friends. Most of my friends take advantage of me. I know what true friendship is, though. It's what I experience on Yahoo!Answers when people answer my questions nicely. (Not all the time, mind you) All my real friendships are with people online, because it's harder to get angry at each other when you don't see each other...

I'll always have their backs, but they'll never have mine. Actually, I've started to let people go and just die on their own without me helping them back up, so I guess I don't know 'everyone' now.

I think that you honestly can't figure your true friends until you go threw a hard time with something. I have a lot of friends but i sometimes think in the end who is really going to be there for me and have my back. You can't truly find out until you go threw something and certain people step up, that's when you know. I remember once i was in a huge fist fight at school, all my "friends" were there, but people who are now my closest friends, are the ones that came in and saved my *** lol. I think that's how you know.

That's me too, I don't consider everyone my friends only associates because the only way you will know who got your back by being a true friend is if you are in a bad situation.And in that case I have only two true friends.

That's me too i know my TRUE friend as she is always there when i need a shoulder to cry on , to ask for advice, on the other end of the phone and even though we don't see much of each other were always in touch

having friends is good, but relying on them - I don't know. I truly believe only in myself, my husband, parents and my brother. I have a friend who we've been through a lot together and, even though we don't see each other too often now, we keep in touch and know about everything that's going on in our lives. I believe she'll be one friend who will have my back. :)

hmm, well my circle of friends has gotten smaller and smaller over the years--thats when you have to learn to be your own best friend--i can count maybe two friends that will be there when the going gets tough, but thats it
