Is it a compliment is someone says you look statuesque?
In the last two months I have had two people refer to my look or body type as statuesque. I don't know what to think of that. What do you think?
I guess I was uncertain because the original context was when I was in this wedding with all these size 2 girls... who were like 5'5" and I was complaining about feeling like a giant whale at 5'10" and not near a size 2.. and they said you look great so statuesque.. and I am thinking Statues are big and giant too.. lol.. then someone else used it the other day out of the blue.

in all my years I have always heard it used as strictly a compliment, stating that one is perfect .Most statues are, no flaws or imperfections, straight and tall. I would take is as a compliment.

I would take that as a compliment. Being referred as statuesque can be a good or a bad thing; it depends on the implication. If they call you statuesque because of the way you act or carry yourself -very stoic and unemotional, then I would consider that as a bad thing unless you are shooting for the stoic look. If they're referring to your body and how it's built (and perhaps even your face) then I think they find you rather attractive. After all, statues are generally idealized versions of the model or the artist's inspirations so the flaws are not that present (as compared to a live, real human).

I think it's a compliment. They say you're towering. Tall women are really amazing and intimidating in appearance. That would be fine.
