  • Where is the best place to get pants that come in long or tall and actually sit on the waist?

I am so tired of the limited selection of pants just because I need them with longer inseams and all these pants that are below the waist.. hate them. Prefer economically prices but for a good fitting pair of pants will pay more.

  • Where is a good place to go in the United States for a Victorian themed vacation?

My mother has not been on a real vacation in way to many years. When I mentioned I would go anywhere she wanted to go she mentioned Vermont because there was a place that makes old-fashioned soaps and other items. She is really interested in the Victorian era and loves that architecture and is interested in antiques and the way of life during that period. She loves lace, frilly things and high team. She would really like to go to Europe but is scared of flying and terrorists (don't judge.. it just is who she is). Any U.S. ideas would be appreciated.

  • My bird is flinging water and other things everywhere. What to do?

My pet Senegal likes to take a bath and gets everything in a 10 foot radius wet. He also of course gets seed and stuff on the floor. We live in tighter space now so this means he is getting books and things wet. I know about a seed guard or cage skirt to help with seeds but what about the water that doesn't collect just around the bottom?

  • What to do at recess for Kindergartners?

The kindergarten play yard is not as engaging in my opinion as there is a play structure to climb on and that is it. The kids (3 classes almost 60 kids) run around like banshees and then get in trouble for play fighting or get hurt running into each other. I am looking for ideas that are cheap/ free to provide some organized activities or additional activiites besides just running around for kids to make it safer and more fun for those students who are just overwhlemed by the chaos. And how to get other teachers to buy in as they see this as a break for them and don't want to organize anything?

  • What are some creative home-made dog costumes?

I want my dogs to participate in a local dog costume parade, but I don't want to use any of the commerically available dog costumes. In the past I used a toddler costume which was at least creative among the dogs. Do you have any ideas for creative and easy to make or assemble costumes for my dogs?

  • What can we do to make a new student who speaks no English comfortable at our elementary school?

School started this week and a new student showed up who is from Japan, is in the third grade and speaks no English. He has cried and refused to go to class everyday. HIs mother stayed part of one day and when she left he ran after her, Dad came another day similar scenario, one day we found a volunteer interpreter and he stayed most of the day but she is not always available, we have designed specific non-language activities to include him, but after a week is still totally stressed and freaked out about coming to school. Creative positive ideas welcome.

  • How do I get my dog to stop obsessing over the cat?

When my husband and I got married he brought a cat to the family and I brought a dog. Both are wonderful animals.. on their own. The dog is thankfully not aggressive towards the cat but will stare at her for hours and follow her around the house and try to poke or herd her (cattle dog). She hisses at him and has slapped him but without her claws. On the bright side I think the cat is use to his obsessive attention now and is only peridically annoyed or inconvenienced when he is over bearing. My husband however is greatly protective of the cat and thoroughly annoyed with the dog, but this dog loves him more than me now. Any way to improve this for everyone?

  • What is the real difference between custom fabricated granite counter tops and pre-fabricated granite tops?

I am remodeling my kitchen and comparing prices on granite countertops. The custom fabrication is almost twice the price of the pre-fabricated for the same granite pattern. Is there a real difference in quality? and what reasons would you pick one over the other?
