What are some creative home-made dog costumes?

I want my dogs to participate in a local dog costume parade, but I don't want to use any of the commerically available dog costumes. In the past I used a toddler costume which was at least creative among the dogs. Do you have any ideas for creative and easy to make or assemble costumes for my dogs?

It really depends on the size of your dog - since you mentioned a "toddler costume" I am presuming it is a large dog. You could use a stripped blanket (like a horse blanket idea) ,sew a few dolls to it like they are sitting and put a hat on him that says "Hollywood Tours", take one of those trick plastic light bulbs and put it on a stiff wire attached to a headband and tell people he has an idea or put pink bunny-ears and a marching band drum (you can make it from a small hat box) say he is the energizer puppy. Good Luck!

Use the superhero underroos and dress them up as Wonder Woman and Superman. You could even put little gold bands on the front legs of the wonder woman dog and a cape on the superman dog I would avoid spraying your dogs with any dye or color unless you want it rubbed all over your carpets and furniture. That stuff is nasty for humans, let alone dogs.

I don't know how big your dog is, but I had a smaller dog (25lbs) and we made a ladybug costume for her out of felt with elastic and Velcro and pipe cleaners for antenna. Good luck and Happy Halloween!!

If your dog is small and white, use red hair spray paint (the ones like at walmart for holloween) and spray a Target sign around his/her eye!, saves money, very diff and creative. If not umm, ill get back to you!

Well what we are thinking of is using some fabric and making a superman cape for our dog. All you really need is fabric and some string so you can tie it onto the animal.

    Ghosts, using white sheets.

If your dog has a light colored, fluffy coat you could use pet-safe dye and make stripes on his coat as a tiger. You could put your dog in a kids dress and put a backpack on her with a wig (dora the explorer), It you could play off your dogs size, name, breed, or special trick.
