Does PS2 games Work with a PS3?

Yes, but certain models only, 20GB, 60GB and 80GB not 40GB!

It all depends on which one you get. Here are all the PS3's to help you choose.

>>20GB- Plays All PS2 & PS1 Games.

-Cost varies- from $325 and up on eBay.

>>40GB- Plays NONE of the PS2 Games, but plays PS1 Games.

-Costs $399+ Tax.

>>60GB- Plays All PS2 & PS1 Games.

-Cost varies- from $400 to $500 on eBay.

>>80GB- Plays Most of the PS2 Games(~85%), plays all PS1 Games.

-Costs $499+Tax.

They are all good systems. If you are really into PS2 Games, I recommend you get 60GB.

If you just like some PS2 games and you really like them, get the 80GB. The 80GB are the only ones still on the market now since 20GB & 60GB have been discontinued.

If you want the 80GB, get it next month with MGS4 for the usual price- $499.

If you do not play that much PS2 games, get the 40 GB. The best one is the 60GB.

Only the 20GB, 60GB and 80GB PS3 play PS2 games ! The current 40GB model does not play PS2 games.

The 20 and 60GB models were the launch models and soon after launch, Sony stopped producing the 20 and 60GB and introduced an 80GB model which they also stopped producing.

Now Sony is introducing another 80GB PS3 that'll come bundled with Metal Gear Solid 4 and the dual shock 3 controller. It's due out June 12 ! It's backwards compatible meaning your PS2 games should work !

PS2 games work for most ps3's. They work for the 20 the 40 and the 80gb models. the 40gb model does not support backwards compatibility. Not all ps2 games work just go on this site and search for your games and see if they work for the ps3 model that you are going to buy.
