If you're reading the book, "The Host", could you please answer this for me?

I was confused about that too. Well, when a soul is inserted into the 'Host', it is supposed to have complete control over the body and the mind. When Wanderer was put into Melanie, they began to share the same thoughts. The regular font, Times New Roman, is Wanderer, because the story is being narrated from her point of view. But she also gets bits and pieces of Melanie's memory's, the larger font. Does that help?

There are actually three fonts used as you will see soon enough. The normal font is the actual narration of the story in the present. The courier new font is Melanie's story being narrated in flashback and the italics is Melanie's voice talking to her host Wanderer inside her head. It seems not many actually "get it". Pax-C

and the other type of italic font that only shows up once in a while is the girl melanie's memories that she is remebering.

but if i remember the font that is arial is of melanie who is the owner of the body
