Should the Top Contributor badges.....?

Be maybe harder to get but easier to keep?

It doesn't really mean much to most people I don't think but if you have one and you don't spend almost all your time in one section you lose it, it seems.

So maybe if once you have one you keep it for like a minimum of like 6 months and if you're not really a Top Contributor in that section they'd take it away.

If that made any sense do you agree?

Make me believe it.

Update 2:

They did at one time have a badge for P&S and there have been plenty of suggestions that Y!A bring them back.

I totally agree, because, right now, it ain't worth jack spit. I know, because I tried to sell mine on ebay and I didn't get one single bid. Not a one.

don't look at me.............I don't have the slightest idea why they gave me one.

I'm only on level 4.! No one has taken it away yet......I don't THINK anyone is TRYING.............(maybe they are, I don't know.......)

I guess I had to take it away from someone, right? Is that how it works? Or are there several top contributors in each category?

anyway....I have a really busy summer coming up, so I am pretty sure some young gun is gonna snatch it back from me anyway eventually.

In fact, I haven't been in my "designated" category at all today.

I just bop around , board to board.........and then one day..........BAM---there it was........top contributor.

I still don't get it........but hey.........it's cool while it lasts.

I promise not to cry if someone takes it away though.

I'll see that person in SEPTEMBER maybe!!! GRRRRR!!!!

Then we'll see what's UP with THAT!!!!

    ***edit***

oh, and to actually answer your question........nah, I think fair is fair........and it should be based on whoever has the most answers or best answers in the category.

If ya awarded it for a length of time.....then the person could do NOTHING for all that time, and still be a "top contributor."

I think if ya wanna wear the badge and be the big cheese on the block, ya have to EARN it.

And if that involves a DAILY slugging match with someone..........well, then......may the best poster win. That's how it should be.....best effort, getting top honors.

Also makes it more fun and lively and competitve that way!

If I know I can't overtake someone for six months.....or a set period of time..what's the incentive for trying?

the badge gives a sense of feeling special,

no wonder people who don't have the time or the inclination

to stay in one section all the time are creating name tags instead (like myself) heh heh..

i believe it's nice to sample all the sections rather than just

    sticking around in one place,

it's not that all TCs give the right answers like experts anyway.

i never had one. what i dont like is the first day someone signs up and the next week they have a contributor badge because of their BA percentage is like 67%. of course its goin to be high but that doesnt make them a top contributer. someone with the most answers should be the top contributor in my opinion.

  • How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.
  • I think they should be EXTREMELY hard to get. I think only the top 10 answerers per section should have a TC badge.

Being a top contributer is a present type of thing....to be one, you'd have to be in one section a lot. It only make sense

Des not really matter to me 'cause I like to play in several places and stay under the radar.
