how long before permanent dye normally fades?
i had light red hair and i dyed it medium reddish brown(permant dye) and it looked really pretty. but now its only 2 weeks later and its already almost my normal color. my friend dyed her hair burgandy(very similar in color) a week before i did and her is just about still that color. i used clairol. how long is a normal time before the color will start to fade? could i call or go to their website and complain about it. also a few days after the actual dying i was in the shower and a lot of the dye came out under the water and i made sure my 1st shower that all the dye was out and the water ran clear. and about 2 or 3 more showers the dye was still coming out. so should i call them or what. and is it safe to dye my hair again that color this soon.
ive dyed my hair before and that didnt happen. but before i dyed it strawberyy blonde and that was almost 2 years ago.
every time i have dyed my hair i use 2 boxes because i have thick hair. view the thickness and color before it started fading here=http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti... to see what i mean and ways to help me. this album is open to everyone so there is no reason why you cant look at them. lol
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti... hope the link works. the dye was CLAIROL 612RB a balsam color. athe day i dyed my hair i did not shampoo it for fear of it washing all the dye out. box did not include shamp.cond.

The normal fading time is about 4-5 weeks (depending on the brand of dye) you need to keep up on your color-lock conditioning that is sold seperately in stores. If it is coming out in the shower did you use the color-lock mini conditioner that came in the package. If not thats your problem. But word of advice NEVER complain to teh company they can't refund you or do anything about it they will say you didn't follow directions or you did it wrong. Hope this helps!

her hair was probably darker than yours and appears to be staying in longer. Red is hard to keep in the hair cortex especially if your hair is dry or already processed. It is the fastest color to come back out of hair . It WILL fade with each shampooing. So maybe shampoo less often, and just use conditioner in your hair sometimes rather than shampoo, the conditioner will also clean your hair. Try that and see.

well...i hope you used the conditioner that came with the dye. or at least use a shampoo and conditioner that has color protection in it.
it should take like 4-6 weeks. i died my hair from natural bleach blonde (although that is an oxymoron) to dark brown and my hair never went back to my natural color. my natural hair actually grew out darker.
it is safe to dye it again. but if it messes up again and starts coming out again i would call and get your money back..
or just try a new brand of die. i like loreal

It was obviously a crappy kind because permanent Doesn't fade. Just go to a salon and do it professionally or else use a different brand. If you really want it to stay the whole time though I would go to a beauty college or salon.
