What does TB stand for when it comes to external and internal hard drives?

Just a question cause i see alot of adds with this TB format.

    That stands for TerraByte or 1000 gigs.

    TB stands for TeriByte, it can be two 500GB (gigabyte) hard drives. It is a LARGE amount of space, and you could probably back up a lot of other computers onto it. My dad owns a 250GB external hard drive, and it is used to back up all four of my familys hard drives, and has extra space.

    So, this means that computers with TB(1TB, 2TB) are the better computers when it comes to like playing games such as the Flight Simulator X with the Acceleration package?

    Terabytes, or Teraflops, which are speeds measured by the worlds supercomputers, which may I mention the top 3 are made by IBM. FTW! xD
