Restaurant / bar recommendations, Glasgow PLEASE!?
I'm going out for late lunch and then drinks with a friend, on Saturday, in Glasgow. Im in my 40s and so is my friend, but we're not fogeys! I have limited mobility, so Im looking for somewhere nice to eat, and then somewhere for drinks and convo later. I wouldn't mind a pub if it has good food and no loud music, want to be able to hear to chat. Otherwise a restaurant with a bar area for after lunch, or a restaurant with a relaxed bar nearby. Basically Id like somewhere that won't be packed to the rafters and no blaring music. Does such a place exist? THANKYOU if you can help!
ps. Glasgow city centre or west of the city as far as clydebank would be fine.

one of my favourite restaurants in glasgow is the city merchant. which funnily enough is in the merchant city . a 5 min walk from george square. the food is gorgeous and it is a very relaxed atmosphere plus its in the heart of the merchant city where there are plenty of bars around to cater for all tastes.

i don't understand a great deal approximately Glasgow however the SEC is often well worth a bypass to. talking in my opinion, if i became in Glasgow for a pair of days i could be very tempted to nip right down to Buchanan street and get on the 1st bus out of there - take a Citylinking bus to Kyle or citadel William or take the practice to feet Wm - it pases by way of dazzling atmosphere. in case you do not p.c. to bypass that far then merely head north a splash thank you to Loch Lomond or the Trossachs.

Bar Gandolfi is excellent - http://www.cafegandolfi.com/
I would also recommend Waxy O'Connors - http://www.waxyoconnors.co.uk/glasgow/menu.asp
Tiger Tiger is also very nice - http://www.tigertiger-glasgow.co.uk/menus/
Arta and The Corinthain too - http://www.g1group.co.uk/content/default.asp?page=...
Hope you and your friend find somewhere suitable and have a great time!

hi,
sorry I knwo this isn't exactly what you wanted but here is an anti-recommendation.
Avoid The Social, I went to Glasgow recently and ate there and the food was horrible with slow service and watery cocktails.
