Did I ruin my digital camera?

I think I screwed up my digital camera. I had it on and noticed my battery was low, so stupid me, takes the batteries out, put new ones in and forgot to shut the camera off first! Now, I can't get the camera to do anything. The zoom lense won't retract and it just makes a funny noise at me when I hit the power button. Anyone know what to do?? Its a Samsung S630. Please help me! I really can't afford a new camera. I'm so used to this one! I bought it in October and I don't have the receipt anymore.

That really shouldn't affect anything at all honestly. Take the batteries out, and ensure the camera is off and put a fresh set of batteries in and see what happens. Also try plugging your camera into your computer and seeing what happens/if it functions or can upload pictures. Forgetting to turn the power off should not be a big issue at all.

it shouldnt ruin it. just try putting BRAND NEW batteries in and press the on/off button again

If this doesnt work try taking it in to the place that you got it (even if you dont have the reciept they might know an easy way to fix it) and will probably not even charge you if it is something as simple as that!

    No problem.

Make sure that the new batteries are good.

I had the same problem before.
