can i ask a civil question about celtic and rangers fans?

I love being an catholic Celtic fan from Ulster and being married to a Scottish protestant Rangers supporter from Govan with a Celtic mad son and a rangers mad daughter,and another daughter who has still to decide who she will support(she is only 4.5 months old).

I have heard every song/rant that has been said on here thousands of times before when i was growing up,and even though it saddens me it does not annoy me,well i dont let it annoy me,i feel sad for the people on here who feel they have to be sectarian,they are sad people and i pity them.

Slagging is one thing bluebell,accusation's are an other,that's bigotry.I often try not to answer questions that are bigoted,but sometimes you have too just to let them know they ain't wanted,I my friend like to take it to the edge its just a bit of banter If I ever thought that I hurt some ones feelings then I would be first to apologise.what happened in England was not bigoted nor racist just a moment of madness through bad organisation,and booze filled fans,OK it has given Celtic fans ammo but as Ive said here before there is no need for you to apologise for it you have done feck all we all know that.most of these people come and go in a few days,the others realise that this a good forum and they settle down very quickly

Well as an Arab I tend to steer clear from all that shite. I'm not a bigot becuase I hate the pair o yis equally, if that's any consilation.

What I want to know is why when I slag off Rangers I get accused of being a Celtic supporter and vice versa?

I am a Celtic fan married to a wonderful lady from a Rangers supporting family.I love her and my kids more than life itself.Life is too short for hatred and bigotry-take a look around the world and see what strife and wars are caused by nonsensical sectarianism.Football is only a game-Unfortunately for decent Rangers fans-I think your club has the biggest problem in the UK,regarding a very sizeable minority who shame their club.These are not real fans and hopefully you can eradicate them one day and the good guys get to win for a change!

Yes there are some mindless fools associated with both parties. Equally the responses give them ammunition.

Be constructive and not resulting to name calling etc... Ask yourself have you every responded in a nasty or degrading way? With your hand on your heart, have you ever called some a prat, tw@t or similar?

As you know i am a neutral, there are some old firm fans on here are really good eggs they take delight in slagging one and other when they get one over on their oppos. There is no harm in that, however there are other elements on both sides, who take it to a personal level. That's where it is wrong in my opinion, keep it humorous, and keep the nastiness out of it.

i assume you just copied my reply to cfc 1888 regarding boruc but have put a gers slant on it. the reason I joined here was because I googled boruc and what was the number one result? Billy the balloon from dunoon and one of his rants. Now since then he and a large number of gers fans have been having a field day with the prospect of a quad (pmsl) and how timmy should be thinking of topping themselves through the summer. As the saying goes, what goes around comes around, it was then inevitable that celtic fans would have their day which they are now. Rangers fans in the past 2 weeks have been criticised for rioting, sectarian singing and now your club collapsed when it really mattered and you expect rival fans not to have a go? Disappointed that wee ger has left for a while as she seemed to be one of only 2 or 3 decent gers fans on here and she definitley supports her club without having to revert to nonsense. There are a lot of idiots on here from both sides and if you cant take it then you know where the door is. At the end of the day its a virtual forum with lots of people on the wind up and pi$s take and a place to vent their spleens, suggest you grow a thicker skin if you are upset with what has been said.

Got a bit wound up yesterday and spat the dummy!

It would seem we have a lot of new people with varying attitudes and some I struggle to tolerate, but cant stay away as I would miss the good guys way too much..was gonna list you all but would be here all day! The decent contributors know who they are!!

It is sad at times on here when people get very personal, and true some of the responses from folk on both sides are horrible.

my sister and I were at the game last week and one of the songs was ***K you Rangers were going to win the league , both of us commented on how we didn't like it yet by the end of the match we caught ourselves singing it, yet neither of us is in any way bigoted.

SECTARIANISM AND RACISM need stamped out in Scotland and we need to take one hard look at ourselves. !

Mostly it is not about football at all, it is about people who drink to much alcohol and then behave like a pack of rabid dogs, the football match is just an excuse for the idiots to bunch together and get drunk
