any ideas how to make a '98 ford taurus not look like an old person's car?

Spoiler and some rims. That is about it. Tint the windows REALLY dark and slump down in the seat. Maybe none of your freinds will see you ?

The Ford Taurus is a smart shoppers' car. For many years, the Taurus was the car of choice of all the rental companies. Enterprise, Hertz, etc, would all buy thousands of them, and only keep them for 20,000 miles. Therefore, the car lots were basically flooded with good, low mileage cars. Simple supply and demand economics. An oversupply of a particular product leads to a low price for that product. The used Ford Taurus has a low retail price not because they are bad cars, but because there is so many of them. The most car for your buck. I would guess that many older folks have a Taurus because they have a better understanding of Economics 101. A good car. And no, not an old peoples car. I.'ve owned them for years.

I know what you mean with the taurus ick! I used to drive a 94' and it didn't look old, it just looked beat up!

I saw these a while ago when I read 17 magazine and I thought some of the ideas were cute

I don't like either of the stuff they put on the seats (leopard print in one article, feather boa's in the next)

but I love what they do to the car ceilings, I love pictures so I'd deck out my car with pictures of friends or band tee's

you can always get steering wheel covers, seat covers, a different CD player for the car (some of those Taurus's stereos look sad)

oh and as for bumper stickers I agree with the girl above, you need to love it and make it personal, I know I've felt like a dork after I put on some bumper stickers to my car, I took them off after I felt nerdy or kind of lame

Make a bumper sticker that says "Hey, it was free..."

Find badges that say "SHO" from a wrecked Taurus or online and attach them to the right places. Get some black powdercoated rims and low profile tires.

Keep in mind it will still BE an old fogie car, it will just look less like one.

Girl, all you need to do is go to the carwash and buy a jazzy air freshner to hang from your mirror. It's the first signal that "this is a young person's car" as long as its not one of those pine trees.

Seat covers get hot, worn out, and dirty looking. They don't look that great in my opinion.

If you're going to put a bumpersticker on your car you need to LOVE it so think about what you love and then look at their internet store to find a bumper sticker.

put some tite stickers on it like name brand stickers like volcom or somethin and if ur into girly stuff then get flower seat covers or wateva u want that u can get at any store really dat sells dat and 2 top it all off put a system in dat thing and wen u come thumpin down da road they wont even notice wat ur drivin

I'm sorry thats not a car you should "customize" unless you want the car to loook like a ghetto black guy's or puertoricans car..i suggest you just clean the car up nicely..detail it, and make it look new.

id go with wheels as they really change the cars look fast.
