Can a router receive info from a regular phone line connected to the wall rather than using an ethernet cable?

My wireless modem isn't strong enough to support the two computers I have at home. So my question is, is it possible to buy a router and have it hook up with the phoneline that's attached to the wall with a dsl signal, and let the 2nd computer connect with the router while the 1st computer is placed closer to the wireless modem? I've seen pictures of wireless routers and they seem to only have an input slot for an ethernet cable. Are there routers that can be plugged with a regular phone line?

Update:

can my router (2nd piece of hardware) connect to the internet via a phone jack from the wall?

you can only have 1 Modem connected for DSL. It connects to the phone jack on the wall. Your Router then connects to the WAN port on the Modem. Your computer connects (wired) to your Router. If you have a wireless router, you can connect your laptop to it. there are some Modems with Router's built-in, but I'm guessing you have two pieces of hardware. If you can't wire the laptop in a remote location, which is preferred, i would suggest you get a repeater to strengthen the signal. Check out Powerline devices. Netgear has a few. They work OK, but i would suggest you try to wire your house, if possible. good luck!
