I need some honest helpful opinions about selling my cockatoo cage?

I have an umbrella cockatoo that is picky and does not use her outdoor bird cage. I recently found someone who wanted another cage for their cockatoo. My cage is slightly used and about 3 or 4 yrs old. How much do i sell it for. Mind you these cages sell new for 300 or more. Please help i dont want to over charge but i could use the extra money.

Update:

I guess i should have told you the cage is a LINDEN cage black and 4ft x 3ft x 2ft

Based on a new price of $300.... If it's in perfect condition, with no damage, you could probably get $200, maybe $225. Wear, and damage such as dents, missing or poorly functioning parts, rust, and chipping paint will lower the resale value of the cage.

I recommend that you check out other people's ads for similar used cages on eBay, craigslist and kijiji, and set your price accordingly.

Just make sure that the cage is clean - really, really clean. Toothbrushes work well:)

I just found a Linden cage with the specs you mentioned for 269.00 online which means if I really shopped around I could probably get that cage for under 200 or close to it.

I personally wouldnt pay anymore than 50 dollars for that cage used. I might suggest starting at 100 and see if she is willing to either pay that or deal for it.

I am actually a bit shocked they would suggest that cage for a large bird because of the bar size.

A big cage like that and slightly used would probably go for about 175-180$. Its not a whole lot but yet again you don't want to over charge. Good Luck!

Well seeing as how it's good condition and only slightly used I would say $150, $200. Just an estimate.

Suzi's offered a good suggestion but around here $80 would be a good price. In the real world it's worth what you can sell it for.
