Is the Common Good (as determined by a government) more essential then Private Property to a strong society??

Common Good = the good of society based on what the government deems appropriate

Private Property = All personally/privately owned property and business entities

The common good is what Communism espoused. We saw how well that worked. Now they've repackaged it as globalism and "sustainable development" and are selling it again, and the sheeple are buying it.

The US has both, and neither is good for the people.

In the US, we have a society whose direction is determined by the government in conjunction with a very powerful elite corporate business entities with interference run by a powerful media.

I believe that a true democracy is the best form of government. In the US we do not have anything resembling a democracy. The French do have a democracy.

The electorate is far too much under the spell of the media. Otherwise, why would we not have single-payer, universal health care like Canada, Austrailia, Britain, and France. The US life expectancy is 3 years less than the French. We spend more per capita ($7000) than anyone and are ranked #37 in health. We would not be spending money in Iraq to enrich the corporate entities while the US standard of living for the median household declines rapidly.

This is a HIGHLY moral dillemma.....

Just because 1 "farmer" decides to sell his farm, and some developer bribes the zoning commissioner so he can build houses......

...it should NOT mean that the state can take another person's land because NOW they need "bigger roads" and more sewage pipes to service all the new development.

I am very much AGAINST "emminant domain" rights for the state. So long as I OWN IT.... I have the RIGHT to keep it and do what I want with it as long as I am not hurting anyone (like storing toxic chemcials, etc).

That question was answered back in 1776. It worked out pretty good for a while, now Americans citzens have been pacified (pussified) and the rest of the world is afraid of its government. The govt. will decide what is best for itself---I mean its citzens--- and kill those who object.

Freedom means being able to control your own possessions too. Common good means someone else is in control.
