If I sent someone a message and we correspond back and forth, apart from my e-mail...is there a way I can go in and check all the message history...everything that I have ever e-mailed somone thru the (e-mail this person) option ?

I meant like messages u send someone from the Yahoo answers page...If I click on someon's profile and send them a message..and they respond...how do I retrieve all the sent messages...

You can't check the sent email to Yahoo answers users, Yahoo keeps it private.

All the emails you have ever sent are saved in your Sent folder. In the Sent folder, you can sort the list of messages so that all the emails you sent to one person appear together -- just click the To header above the list. That's about the best way to see everything you've email to that person.
