Considering a tattoo...?

I was just recently considering getting a small tattoo on my lower hip. Does anyone know anything about white ink and if it's good? Also, what does everyone think about this for the tattoo...

something along those lines...free-spirited and happy

Update:

Well I can see that I didn't avoid the Tramp Stamp comments..but that's why I want it to be very small and in a place where it is covered most of the time, and also the reason I asked about white ink. It would be mostly something for me. I've never been interested in tattoos at all until now. I got the idea of heart and wings and it make me think of a free spirit, that's why I like the design I found. Thanks for the input everybody!

White ink comes out kinda pink, well at least it did on me :o)

Will admit though I love that design.

Gotta warn you though I have tattoos and I redgret them sooooo much. Though I suppose the hip is hidden.

I'd love to get a Japanese style sleeve with flowers and koi fish...but yeah that's never going to happen because I can't handle pain well. >.> BQ: I actually do plan to get a small anchor on my right wrist, it has a lot of significance so it wouldn't be a spur of the moment thing. I've actually thought about it for over a year now. I really really would love to follow through with it when I turn 18 in a few months...but well...I was told the placement I want it would hurt so bad no matter the size of the tattoo because it's on a bone... D: BQ2: Yeah, actually! This Friday, I'm graduating high school and I'll probably be chilling with some friends the rest of the weekend. ^^ BQ3: No, I haven't. I'm not a big risk taker. xD

White ink is great, however it has downsides many people don't know about.

White ink is the least likely to run or fade, and if you're tan at all , it makes a great tattoo. However, white ink cannot be removed. So, if you really like the idea go for it in white, but just know that it won't come off even with a laser procedure.

  • A tattoo on ur lower hip is NOT a tramp stamp!! Some people are just clueless. I think that tattoo is real AWESOME!! I like it a lot & I think you should go ahead & get it. I would kinda stay away from white ink. Its going to blend with your skin. If you get it outlined with black they can put white around the outline & THAT would look pretty cool. Good luck!!!

Not everyone can do white ink - it's hard because sometimes your body will reject it.

I know someone who has two white ink tattoos - the first one was rejected, but then the second one in a different area looks beautiful.

You'd want to see a really good tattoo artist who has experience with white ink, I'd imagine.

I like the tattoo but I dont know anything about white ink. Just get it in black ink, unless your skin is very dark then think of another color.

Also make sure it is what you want before you get it!

Source(s): I have two tattoos and I HATE one of them.

I'm personally a bit "over" the whole tribal theme, but get what you want of course.

As for size, larger is better than smaller. One of the most common complaints that people have about getting their first tattoos is that they ended up not being as "impactful" as they wanted them to be, primarily because they chickened out and went too small.

Here are a couple of good tattoo picture web site for you to check out for some ideas.

    Good luck!

Im getting a white cross on my wrist in a few weeks, the ispirations for white ink was from this lady I saw @ the mall who had a daisy band in all white in all around her ankel it was adoreable so Im going with white.

Plus Im kind of pale skined so it wont show as much when I go for a job interview. Ya know?!

I say yes to white ink! it looks classy.

white ink does not show very good --- your artist will tell you this, white ink is best for ooutlining a certain color to make it stick out, and unless your very pales even then you wont be able to see white so vividly once it heals, for that tattoo id stick with black and soft greys.. and ive never seen silver pigment thats why i go with grey.. just my opinion but id definitely say

    black/grey or red/black/grey..

  • White ink reacts differently to different skin. Rarely does it stay white. Mostly it turn a yellow or oatmeal color. Does not do well in the sun at all!
