    That is the million dollar question. It's worth more than 10 points :-)

    Each search engine likes and ranks different things when they index a site... and they change it often. So, just when you think you got it figured out, they can change the rules.

    All search engines like content on the pages (at least 2 or 3 paragraphs on each page). They love content that changes on a regular basis. This content should be stuff your customers or visitors should want to read. The search engines are smart enough to figure out if you are just repeating a bunch of key words over and over.

    The search engines also like links to other sites, but they hate link farms. A link farm is a website that just puts a bunch of links up in exchange for a link to their site on yours.

    Name your pages to match your keywords, like fitness.html or health.html Also, name your pictures as the keywords you are using as well.

    Don't expect overnight results. With health and wellness being a billion dollar industry your competition probably has a full time SEO guy tweaking their pages regularly.

    Good luck.

    Use META tags on your pages... all your pages. Use different content in the tags for evey page.

    <meta name="Description" content="your description here">

    <meta name="Keywords" content="your keywords here in a comma seperated list... dog, cat, animals">

    It sounds like you need a search engine optimization (SEO) strategy using both organic and paid search. Search engines use a combination of factors to determine where your site will rank:

    1. Content and keywords within the actual text of your site. In your case, the more times you can use the words "health and fitness" in your site content, the better.

    2. Meta data built into the back end code of your site. Again, choose keywords that are relevant to the search terms likely used for your site (health, fitness, exercise, etc.)

    3. Links. Search engines will not only take into account how many times you link to outside sites, but also sites that link back to you and reciprocal links (links from a site and then back to yours).

    4. How often content is updated. If you want to get ranked higher, make sure you are updating your site with new, relevant content on a regular (ideally daily) basis and remember to include your target keywords into your content.

    5. Paid search. Last but not least, those sites that pay for keywords through Google or Yahoo will be listed higher in the rankings.

    Hope this helps, but remember, there is no magical combination to get in the top 20. The longer your site is on the web, and the more you follow the steps above, you will start to see your rank go up.

    Good luck!
