Can someone help me with AutoCad 2008?

I have noticed that in AutoCad 2008 and other newer versions of AutoCad (Since 2006, I think) that commands that are being typed do not appear on the command line as you are typing them, but instead appear near the crosshairs.

Is this a selectable feature? Can it be disabled so the command appears on the command line as you are typing? My guess is yes, but I cannot find where to make the change.

Update:

Thanks for the quick response AC2107, but I have tried the DYN button. It does disable the graphic overlay like like length, angle, and that kind of stuff, but doesn't seem to effect the on-screen command entry.

You are right about preferences. I could see why someone might like to see the command by the crosshairs. I my case, I have been using AutoCad since release 9 (which ran in DOS) and have gotten use to seeing the commands near the bottom of the screen.

Update 2:

NOPE... YOU WERE RIGHT!

For some dumb reason I was looking at the button wrong!

Thanks!

At the bottom of the command line where you have the tabs (SNAP, GRID, ORTHO, POLAR...etc) Unclick the "DYN" tab. That should disable the commands being typed in the drawing space near the cross hairs.

I happen to like how it types the commands up where you can see it easier...but then again, everyone drafts differently.

    Hope this helps.
