Who has seen an ape, big cat, or other non local strange creature & where?

I my self have seen a metre long black cat that had killed or was scavenging a fox attacked, fence stuck sheep, the night before. Size measured by the fence it climbed to flee, the sheep it was eating & its paw prints bigger than my 15kgram (30Pd) dog's. No cats native to Australia thou it was at the extreme upper limit of feral domestic cat.

Update:

Thanks Kakariki for web address. i read all very interesting reading. Your animal could of been if dark grey or brown a south east asian Bintorong(spelling probably wrong)They are sloth shaped but are 1 < 1.5metres long and are very active omnivores. Not native but there are many foreign escaped mongooses, raccoons(personaly seen a young raccoon in a holding cage that was caught/trapped in the Castleraugh state forest by National park rangers.)(Between Blue Mnts & Winsor NSW.) plus there are many US and asian snakes, turtles regularly found near urban areas. (probably released or escaped illigal pets that got to big)

I have seen an animal, also here in Aust., which hasn't been discovered yet. It's something like a sloth, but it must be a lot stronger because the place that I saw it, it would have to have leapt about 5 feet straight upwards to get there.

Here's a website you might be interested in. It's about big cat sightings in Australia. There's no doubt a lot of big cats have escaped and been released here over the years, so it's fairly likely there are still some around. There are also sightings of other animals on this site.

There is one very unconvincing photo of a Tiger Cat, which is clearly stuffed and set up to look like it's 'alive'. No doubt some of the other stories aren't genuine, but I would say a lot of them are. It's worth a read anyway.
