You can have your back pain documented by a licensed chiropractor, then go to your insurance agency & show them the proof.
My cousin had breast reduction, and was completely relieved and happy afterward.
Best wishes.

If it is affecting your back you may be able to get it paid for by the insurance company. But first you're going to have to go to a specialist and have your back examined. The insurance company isn't just going to believe you that your back hurts and dish out the money. It has to be a pretty severe, degenerative problem for them to pay it, usually. But the good news is that a breast reduction surgery might be affordable for you either way because most surgeons have a income-based pay scale so if you don't have any money or a low paying job, they will charge you less money than miss rich. They will also start you with probably only a hundred bucks down payment and put you on a plan where you can pay monthly. Ask your doctor for a good back specialist first though. If you can get insurance to pay for it, even better.

I've known 2 people to get a breast reduction. If you can prove that it is causing back issues and other health related issues you should be able to get it covered or at least partially covered.
My friend had severe nipple issues. The doctor didn't place them back correctly and now she has huge scars. The other friend had no issues. It may cause problems with breast feeding if you plan to have children. May be best to wait until that part of your life is long gone and then do it.

Im sure you wont be able to claim on insurace for reduction surgery...its a cosmmetic thing and has nothing to do with health (which your insurance covers)

my mother had one last year. her insurance covered it because it was recommended by two doctors. she feels better than ever and her back has improved tremendously. she has healed very well and you cannot see any problems as far as scaring. there is always a risk of complications with every surgery but the health benefit may out way the cost. after her surgery she went out and bought dresses and tank tops. dresses she could never wear because if they fit in the breast the rest of the dress was huge. she never wore tank tops because she was embarassed. if you can get it done i say go for it!! good luck!!

YOU don't tell them anything. That is up to the doctor's office. They need to pre-qualify you for the surgery with the medical back-up that you are having these legit health problems. That way you will know if and how much they will cover.

you should go to your primary doctor first and complain about having chronic back pain , do not forget to include chronic. he will give you pain medication, tell him when you take it the medication makes it impossible for you to function and the lower dosage does not work. after a few visits to your primary doctor tell him that the problem are your breast. he will probably recommend you to a plastic surgeon. see one anyway and you will have proof of seeing a primary doctor and complaining to him first. you will not have a problem if you go about it in the right way. do not forget your shoulders are hurting really bad also.

I have had a reduction and it is totally worth it.
Go to the PS, complain of your back pain and your posture, and they will take pictures and send in their information to the insurance company.
If you DO get denied APPEAL!!!!!! Appeal until they give in!

You need to go to your primary care physician and have it documented.. I'm sure it will take more than one visit for back problems and the others you have mentioned. Risks? I would imagine very view. It's such a common procedure anymore.

My daughter inlaw had it done and it is not a funny subject. She was teased in school and her back started aching, we paid for the reduction and she is happier.
