After you file bankruptcy when can you rent another apartment or home?
When someone files bankruptcy how do they live? Like, how does someone rent again? Is there a time period after you file and it goes through?

There is life after Bankruptcy. Soon after your case is discharged in Court do not be surprised if you begin receiving offers in the mail for even a secured credit card. After a BKRTY discharge I have even seen people get a car loan but as another answer on here states expect to pay higher interest rates and higher deposits. You can certainly fill out applications for an apartment at a complex especially after the discharge but again expect to pay higher security deposit.

I believe that it will stay on your credit report for 10 years. There are people that will rent to you. As for your question on how will you live, there is life after credit cards, it's not the end of the world. However, you might have to put down a larger deposit. Your best bet is to rent from a private owner and not a property management company. Good luck to you.

Yes there is life after bankruptcy. It'll take a couple of years before you can even think about anything that has to do with credit. Just worry about paying everything off. I bought a house after 5 years with a decent rate.
