    Mass FeSO4 + water = 34.50 - 29.65 = 4.85 g

    Mass FeSO4 = 31.85 - 29.65 =2.2 g

    mass water = 4.85 - 2.2 =2.65 g

    % water = 2.65 x 100 / 4.85 =54.6

Use: (water mass/alum mass)x100% You want the percentage mass of water in the alum, not the anhydrous salt.
