If you own a Mercedes-Benz, how old is it and how much do you spend on maintenance and repairs?

300 SE, 1986 Model, Silver Grey, leather interior. 486,000 kms + on the clock. Original paint. I have taken care of the vehicle and she is still in pristine condition and gives me excellent service.

If I were to combine routine preventive maintenance, oils/filters and the odd spare part which needs changing now and then, I reckon she does not cost me more than US$ 400-500 per month (past 1 years average expenditure). In our part of the world, OEM parts for Mercs are easily available and carry all the standard warranties etc. Also, the service outlets are super.

equal reliability, the vw would give better fuel mileage but i would take the mercedes for that classic rich look and larger size.
