Re Trojans etc picked up on AVG 8?
I ran AVG 8 complete scan and as it was scanning after a while it was picking up loads of trojans etc. I checked the virus vault and nothing was there , I checked scan results and all was clear apart from a few warnings but no other threats were found even though on scanning there were no end of trojans found etc. so I rescanned again and again it has picked up all that stuff, I am waiting fort scan to finish. help please.
Scan has now stopped, same as before, all the warnings are the trojansd etc, it said on all thast they are all potentially dangerrous, wehy on earth didnt they go into virus vault? How do I make my pc safe? how do I treat these warnings ??
When I firstt downloaded AVG 8 and scanned it picked up a lot of stuff like now but it sent trojans etc to virus vault and I had the chance to fix it, but this time its not working properl;y.
I have done whsat the penguin advised me to do, to turn off system restore then reeboot in safe mode, I hasve checked AVG again and again the results says same, no spyware etc found only 500+ warnings, yet while it was scanning, there still were trojans etc, where have they gone to? i
I will scan again in normal mode and see if scanning in safe mode with system restore turned off works.

I have AVG, and when it prompts that it has found a virus, there's an option to heal or remove it to the virus vault, you probably missed this part.
AVG is NOT free.
It is free to the common mule because it sells to the big corporations to make sure their computers keep virus free.
I've used AVG for years and no virus or trojan has ever caused me any software or hardware damage.
So the reason they actually give you a free edition is that YOUR not going to give their customers (the corporations) any viruses such through email, websites etc.
Granted that free editions usually are updated on the lowest priority, the customers get the updates first, then it will give the free users the updates.

AVG free is a fine program and is certainly as good as many others you have to pay for.
If you have problem removing viruses, trojans etc, turn off system restore then reboot in safe mode (by pressing f8 ), then do a scan. That should remove them
edit
can you post some of the names of the trojans here (maybe a new question might be better). It would give us some idea of what we're dealing with

Although I use Avast (free), AVG (free, yes you can upgrade to the paid version) is the TOP anti-virus download at CNET (download.com) and what's more many thousands of IT professionals use it.
The penguin is correct, boot in safe mode and they should be dealt with :)

No one seems to understand that free antivirus programs are not good. If it's free then the company who made it is not making much money. If you don't make much money, you're going to suck. AVG sucks and it doesn't get rid of lots of problems. Get either Norton or Bitdefender.

Free version of avg doesn't remove Trojans unless you buy the full version
Run Malwarebytes, its free...
