vegan birthday cakes at whole foods?

I've tried chocolate and vanilla vegan cakes from Whole Foods and didn't like them. (I'm picky though, so maybe you would like them.) It's probably easiest to call the store near you and ask whether they carry any vegan cakes.

I'm pretty sure you can order a vegan birthday cake there at Whole Foods, because I know they do make cakes for special events.

I have been able to find a bakery that could make a vegan cake by calling around. If you can't find one, here's a great recipe for a chocolate cake. If you want it professionally decorated than you can find a cake decorator to come to your home. I did that for my daughters birthday. The decorator worked at a grocery store and brought one of their cake boxes. She did a really awesome Sponge Bob cake with air brushes and a vegan whipped topping. Everyone thought it was store bought until I told them it was vegan (after they ate it). They were impressed.

I thought you were Vegetarian lo-mcg. A Vegan bakery surely exists in London. May take you some google browsing & calling around. I think your cake should be homemade. Even if you have to make it. Last two years I did Vegan pineapple upsidedown cake, it was heavenly. I can't eat frosting makes me feel ill but I am sure a Vegan one exists after all sugar comes from plants. But I made this gooey raspberry pineapple glaze for my cake. My next bday is nov & I am doing a raw vegan cake made of nuts for crust & raw vegan cream, so its like a fruity creampie. Whole Foods of Cupertino, CA makes several types of vegan cakes to pre- order, but you have to order them about two weeks prior to occasion, because they need to get the ingredients.

They make to order in house 1 style of vegan cake, the chocolate vegan torte. It is topped with raspberry jam, vegan chocolate cake crumb, and mixed fruit. They can make in a single layer ¼ sheet ($19.99), a double layer ¼ sheet ($44.99), ½ sheet ($59.99) and full sheet ($99.99) with additional cost for additional decorations. The cake writing is not vegan, but they have plastic sheets that they can write on, so that the buttercream does not touch the cake. A special order requires pre-payment, you need come to speak directly to a cake decorator, they are at work every day before 2pm.

The cake I ordered had two rich chocolate layers with nice organic raspberry jam as a filling. I asked to leave empty space in the middle and wrote Happy Birthday myself with my own frosting. The cake was very fresh and tasted just delicious, and was also quite light, since it was not very oily. All the guests were saying what a great cake we have! It was very artistically decorated with different types of fruit like, mango, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc. I'm going to order there again.

Whole Foods does carry some vegan cakes, but be cautious their prices are ridiculously expensive! It's better you make your own cake at home!
